Update: Wanderlust

(part 1 of my 4 part series of things I forgot to blog about this summer)

I know it's been a long time since I updated you all on the process of making Wanderlust.

It's definitely been a long process in postproduction, but we're almost done! We did a great sound mix here in New York at Sound One, and work is happening on all the final touches as well as trailers, posters, etc. The release date is now February 24. Very excited for you all to finally see it! I believe first trailers will be out in a couple of months or so.

One thing I can tell you about the shoot is that I learned what a huge dick Paul Rudd is. Here's a report I did for GQ about it about it.

Tonight's the Night, Montreal!

o8919s We're cooking up a rockin show tonight, Montreal...if you like the web series, you'll love the live show!

Wednesday night show in NYC

On Wednesday I'm gonna be on the cool radio show Seven Second Delay and the other guests that day are two guys who I am HUGE fans of:  John Sayles, whose movie Brother From Another Planet I think was the very first "indie" movie I ever saw (at the Cedar Lee theater in Cleveland Heights, OH), and Mike Doughty, who I first met when he was working the door at the original Knitting Factory on Houston, and who then fronted one of my favorite bands of all time, Soul Coughing.  I have had out of body experiences driving a rented car lost on the way home from some weird party in Los Angeles, listening to "Screenwriters Blues".

So listen in!

Wed 6pm on WFMU 91.1 (or 90.1) FM in NYC

or better yet, come WATCH the show LIVE at the UCB Theater!

July 4th on Chautauqua Lake

I was with my family in Chautauqua, NY on July 4th.  That night we were having dinner at a restaurant on the lake, when I thought I heard someone blasting KISS songs.  Lo and behold, I looked out the window to see that the afternoon's al fresco entertainment was Kiss Army, one of many Kiss tribute bands (in fact one of at least two with the name Kiss Army, I found out in my internet research this evening).

They were pretty good.  But the entertainment could not have matched the venue less. They were trying to psyche up the audience with their sexy rock patter ("Who wants to get kissed!!!!") but I think it was the wrong crowd.

Then I investigated the upcoming schedule:

Note that the guy playing Billy Joel is a dead ringer for the real Piano Man.
